Welcome

Colorado Springs has an abundance of hiking opportunities both within the city, and in the nearby foothills. Getting good maps and information about those opportunities is another matter.

Steve Garufi (aka ColoradoGuy.com) has a very nice overview of Hikes in Colorado Springs.

The city of Colorado Springs has a nice set of maps for city parks and hiking trails, but it is very hard to find them.

  • The best place to start is the Parks and Trails map page of the City’s web site.
  • Click on Main Park Map to view an interactive city map. Then click on a Park or Open Space to get a trail map of that park.
  • Also on the Parks and Trails map page, at the bottom of the page, there are links to PDF versions of trail maps for Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Canyon, Palmer Park, and Red Rocks Open Space.

Unfortunately you cannot get a map of every park and open space this way.

  • You need to click on Park Listings (Alphabetical) and then scroll around to find maps for places like Blodgett Peak Open Space, Austin Bluffs Open Space, and Stratton Open Space.

Along the right side are links to pictures and descriptions of some of my favorite hikes around the Springs.
